Iron Chef Lab - Change in Plans!

As mentioned in the previous post, we were facing a few difficulties in our Iron Chef lab. However, with help from Mr. Ahmad (the AP Chemistry teacher and my AP Physics teacher), we have found a way to access real BPA. The plan is to melt down plastic water bottles that contain actual BPA within. Then we can continue with our previous plans for experiment. Another idea that I had was to place the BPA and corn into water, because then we can test the changed pH level.

Here we have listed some differences we want to note between the two types of corn, as a few days go by. We can only measure for a few days because the corn would originally go bad on its own after a few days.

Because Mr. Ahmad will be helping us next class (10/25), I emailed him to get some information about our procedures and materials.

Other than that, it looks like our experiment will be rolling into action. We are all very pleased that it is turning into a doable experiment, and we think the results will be very intriguing.
